Camp Hometown Heroes is a safe, fun and unique week-long overnight summer camp for children and younger siblings of fallen U.S. service members who died in any manner – combat, accidents, suicide or friendly fire. This camp is specifically designed to provide children ages 7-16 with opportunities for friendship, fun, acceptance, and personal growth. Through the support of pediatric grief specialists the children and teenagers will be provided the chance to grieve and heal. Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of donors, Camp Hometown Heroes is provided free of charge to all children who attend. Camp Hometown Heroes is operated in partnership between YMCA Camp Matawa, Kyle’s Corner, Kapco, Inc. and Hometown Heroes.
The debut camp takes place June 22-28, 2013 at YMCA Camp Matawa in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. The camp is provided free of charge to all of the children – many of whom are from low-income families. For more information email Co-Founder, Neil Willenson at: Willenson@kapcoinc.com.
Hometown Heroes is proud to sponsor Camp Yellow Ribbon
This important summer camp is designed for children of currently, past and soon-to-be deployed soldiers.
